Volunteer with the International Development Conference 2013

This is the second annual International Development Conference to be hosted at UTSC. The theme of this year's conference is Inspiring Development: Ideas Unleashed, and will host a variety of speakers with a range of diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are looking for volunteers to help with different activities leading up to the event and for the event itself. Duties will include (but are not limited to) delegate registration, marketing the event, fundraising events, and more. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with the conference, meet new people, gain experience in different areas, and looks great on your resume!

Volunteer with WUSC!

Looking for volunteer experience?  Are you interested in learning about student refugees and their experiences in Canada?  Are you interested in education and its role in development?

WUSC (World University Service of Canada) is a national NGO with local committees in several Canadian universities.  WUSC's philosophy centres around the idea that Education Changes the World.  The organization has education-based projects, particularly in refugee camps, throughout the Global South (Details on these projects can be found at http://wusc.ca/en/programs).

On campus, WUSC UTSC runs a Student Refugee Program (SRP).  Each year, through student levee funds, a student is sponsored to come work and study at UTSC.  As a committee, we help in the students' transition into life at the university.

For more information please contact the WUSC committee at wusc@utsc.utoronto.ca or marc.l.lombardo@gmail.com
